Sony's 'Welcome Back' Program is Up. Get Your Free Content!

Damn Sony that was quick. I know they said they would roll it out 'soon' but I expected it to hit next week.

For those of you that don't remember, this program was Sony's way of apologizing to all PSN users for the attack on the PSN and the downtime that was caused by it.

This applies to both PS3 and PSP users who had a PSN account before April 20th. Anyone else is S.O.L. but hey, that's what you get for being an Xbot or Wiitard, granted the Wii's online never really worked in the first place.

Note: I own all the consoles so I'm allowed to make fanboy jokes about everyone. :P

Details after the jump.

Everything for the 'Welcome Back' program is listed under the Welcome Back tab on the PS Store.

PS3 owners get two free games out of a list of five while PSP owners get two games out of a list of four.

PS3 Games:
  • Dead Nation
  • Infamous
  • LittleBigPlanet
  • Super Stardust HD
  • Wipeout HD + Fury
PSP Games:
  • LittleBigPlanet (PSP)
  • Killzone Liberation
  • Modnation Racers
  • Pursuit Force

Mario Kart + LittleBigPlanet = Modnation Racers. GET IT.
Plus, everyone gets 30 days free of Playstation Plus which includes more free games and content as well as discounts for tons of games and content as well. The service won't auto renew so you don't have to worry about cancelling the service at the end of the 30 days. Though, any free content that is donwloaded through the service is only active while you have a PS+ membership while anything that was downloaded and was only discounted is yours to keep regardless of having a PS+ membership.

And for those of us that were already subscribers to PS+, Sony has already added 60 days to our existing subscriptions, you don't have to do anything. Sixteen dollars saved right there.

Home users also get 100 pieces of free virtual content. Just log into Home and there is a kiosk that will be in the Central Plaza for you to get your items.

There is also some free video content on the Video Store so make sure you grab it quick since it is only available through the weekend.

Everything in the 'Welcome Back' tab will be available through July 3rd so make sure you get your dues before then. You can visit the Playstation Blog for all the details and fine print about the program.
