Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Announced By Valve

It's no Half-Life 2: Episode 3 (or Half-Life 3) but Valve has announced a new game! Called Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, it's definitely something for shooter fans to be excited about, and not just PC shooting fans either.

Hit the jump for all the details.

Now for us non-PC players, Valve has announced that CS:GO will not only be avaible on PC and Mac, through Steam of course, but also on PS3 and Xbox 360 through the PSN and XBLA respectively. Hopefully this means that the game will get pricing closer to Xbox Live Arcade games than full retail games.

As for features, the list is already pretty impressive. CS:GO will feature new characters, maps, and weapons as well as leaderboards, new gameplay modes, and matchmaking as well.

Valve is developing CS:GO in conjunction with Hidden Path Entertainment who also helped them with Counter-Strike: Source.

Expect Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to ship "early 2012" according to Valve.
