Assassin's Creed: Revelations Beta Announced (Update)

Update: IGN just dropped some more details on the beta. All new info after the jump.

The multiplayer for Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is one of my favorite multiplayer experiences of recent memory. So seeing as Ubisoft just announced via the official Assassin's Creed Facebook page that the newest entries in the series will be getting a multiplayer beta test two months before the game releases, you can only imagine how giddy I am.

That's the good news, unfortunately some of the details as to how to participate may not be to some gamer's liking.

What little details they have given after the jump.

According to their post, the beta starts September 3rd. As for whom, only Playstation Plus and Uplay users were mentioned.

There is no word if you have to be both a PS+ user and a Uplay user or just one of them; if non PS+ users will get beta access and if 360 owners will get beta access as well.

Hopefully once the full beta site launches Ubisoft can clear up some of these questions.

Updated info: According to IGN, the beta will only run till September 11th and is a 'timed exclusive.' This gives the possibility that the beta may open up to non PS+ users and possibly Xbox 360 owners as well.

They also detailed which characters, maps, and what modes will be playable in the beta as well.

Characters:
  • The Sentinel
  • The Vanguard
  • The Guardian
  • The Vizier
  • The Thespian
  • The Deacon
  • The Bombadier
  • The Trickster
  • The Champion

Maps:
  • Knight's Hospital
  • Antioch
  • Constantinople

Modes:
  • Wanted
  • Manhunt
  • Deathmatch
  • Artifact Assault
September 3rd cannot come soon enough. Dibs on a female Templar!
