Ubisoft today finally revealed their next installment in the Assassin's Creed franchise: Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The screenshot above (via Game Informer) is the first in game shot we have of the new game.
The Assassin's Creed series is one of my favorite of all time, and it sounds like Ubisoft is trying to go bigger and better than they did with the amazing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood.
The premise of the new game is to rap up the 'Ezio Trilogy' and find out what exactly happened to Desmond at the end of Brotherhood. You'll do this by not only playing as Desmond, but also as Ezio and Altaïr! Yes ladies and gentlemen, you get to play all three assassins in some way shape or form!
I might actually read this issue...
The game takes place in Constantinople during the height of the Ottoman Empire. Ezio is not only there to stop the Templars (again) but is there also to follow in Altaïr's footsteps and learn something about himself in the process. Of course all of this will somehow tie into Desmond's story and help him grow into a badass assassin like his ancestor's instead of the whiny brat he has been up to this point.
Oh, and if you are a fan of the multiplayer as I was, Ubisoft hasn't forgotten about you. Multiplayer will be present in some way though not confirmed as to what it will entail. I'd put my money on a seriously beefed up multiplayer from Brotherhood with new stages, custimization options, and characters.
But for now I'm going to eagerly wait by my mailbox until the new issue of Game Informer shows up.
Note: And they said you couldn't go back to Constantinople........
