Fellow Templars! The day is almost nigh where we will finally be able to beat the Assassin's and bring peace to this world.
But, in order to beat the Assassin's we must train you to become the ultimate Templar weapon! And wouldn't you know that we have
So starting September 3rd and running through September 11th, select candidates will have the opportunity to begin their training in the Animus Project before any other Templars are given the chance. This will help us iron out any wrinkles with the training program.
Think of it as a sort of "beta test" if you will.
If you'd like to find out which of you are the "select candidates" and some other details about this training session, make sure you hit the jump for more information.
In case you guys missed it, here is our previous post which pretty much details everything we already know about the beta. The "select candidates" are those of you who are Playstation Plus subscribers and a select few Uplay members as well.
There are nine playable Templars and each has their own backstory and preferred weapon. There are three maps in the beta though only two will be playable at launch and the third to be introduced sometime within the beta period.
Lastly, we have the four game modes. Two are returning favorites Manhunt and Wanted while the other two are brand new. Deathmatch is wanted without the compass to guide you and no chases while Artifact Assault is Revelations' take on capture the flag.
See? It's a flag. |
All the previous goodies like abilities, perks, streak bonuses, challenges, and even leaderboards will be available in the beta as well.
Customization of your Templar is back as well, except this time you will be able to customize different parts of the body individually instead of changing their entire outfit like in Brotherhood. Belt, torso, legs and arms will all be customizable and once you hit the level 30 cap in the beta, you will be able to change your Templars weapon of choice.
Probably the biggest addition is Abstergo Credits. It's money you will earn for playing the multiplayer and completing certain challenges that you use to buy your abilities and perks as you level up.
It is very similar to the system used in Call of Duty: Black Ops for the online multiplayer unlocks. Let's just hope this game isn't infected by zombies....

Hmm, a rotting corpse representing Call of Duty....symbolism? |
If you want all the details you can get about the beta, check out Ubisoft's official Assassin's Creed: Revelations Beta page. It has all the info you could hope to know and then some.
I can tell you I am positively giddy about this beta. It's too bad my PS3 YLOD'ed or else I'd be playing this right now. Expect me to be chilling in front of a TV at Game Xcape a lot the next coming week.
I'll be the Master Templar assassinating all the fresh newbies as one of the playable female Templars. See you there!
Working on becoming a Grand Master!!! |
