Gaming Quickies

Welcome to Gaming Quickies, were we round up some of the news that almost slipped by and make it a tad bit more digestible.

First off, if you happened to miss it, Nintendo announced a major price drop to the 3DS. They also announced some freebies for those of you that pay the full $250 before the price drop. Check out the full details here.

As for other news, we got a little bit of everything today ranging from the PSP, Madden, and even a little bit of Red Dead Redemption, so check the info after the jump.

Hmm, you know the 3DS is in trouble when the PSP outsells it 2 to 1. Maybe that explains the recent price cut and game announcements.

For you Black Ops players not on Xbox 360, the Annihilation Map Pack hits today for PS3 and PC. I have to say Shangri-La looked pretty neat.

Now where's the Cintamani Stone?
Looking for something a bit more sci-fi in your shooters? Well the Resistance 3 beta will start here soon. If you got a beta code with your copy of SOCOM 4 then you can start next week on August 4th. Playstation Plus members get it a few weeks before Resistance 3's launch on August 23rd.

If you were one of those that squealed with joy when the lockout ended, you might be interested in the fact that the Madden 2012 demo hits August 9th for PS3 and Xbox 360.

Capcom announced the release date and pricing for both Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X HD remakes. Both will run you twenty bucks with Resident Evil 4 releasing September 20th and Code Veronica a week later on the 27th.

One of these is prettier in HD than the other. Guess.
Lastly, for you Red Dead Redemption multiplayer aficionados, Rockstar has announced the last piece of DLC for the game. It is known as the Myths and Mavericks Bonus Pack and will cost the bargain price of free. Expect it in September.
